A message from Sky Arts: Art and culture have always played a huge role in leading societal shifts and driving positive change. At Sky Arts, we are committed to responsible business practices, contributing to a low carbon economy and inspiring positive change for both people and planet.

The Sky Arts Awards 2025 is committed to ensuring the full and equal inclusion of (d)Deaf, disabled and/or neurodivergent talent, both behind and in front of the camera by:

  • Working with an Access Coordinator across the planning and production of the Sky Arts Awards.
  • Planning with equity in mind by adhering to the TV Access Project’s 5As of disability inclusion: 1. Anticipate · 2. Ask · 3. Assess · 4. Adjust · 5. Advocate.
  • Ensuring Clear plans to support and implement access adjustments which are disclosed to us and anticipating requirements ahead of time by regular reviews and site visits.
  • Working with Sky’s Access Service team to ensure the broadcast incorporates all available accessibility features.
Accessibility
  • We are removing single use plastics from our catering, with food served to our invited guests on real crockery.
  • Any edible leftovers from the event will be donated to the Oasis Community Fridge in Waterloo and waste food scraps will be broken down by ORCA, an aerobic digester which utilizes a natural biological process to efficiently break down food waste prior to it being discharged into normal plumbing infrastructure.
  • Creative Reuse is a central theme of the event, which is why we will be giving any leftover materials, sets, costumes or props to the local community and wider arts projects. To celebrate this, we have hosted a charity auction of props and items from Sky Arts Awards 2024 on eBay and with Auction Collective in aid of charity. The auction is live 1 – 10th Sept 2025.
  • We will be reducing our travel footprint by encouraging guests and crew to travel to the awards via public transport and electric vehicles.
  • And as a BAFTA Albert certified production, we will be recording our TV production’s carbon footprint which will give us information on the impact of our sustainability measures, and highlight how we can improve in future.
  • As signatories of the Climate Content Pledge, we are committed to funding natural ways to include planet positive examples on screen, too. Examples from our 2024 broadcast are included in our Sustainability Reel. You can find out more about Sky’s commitments to sustainable productions here.
